Hoo-Ah!

Every once in a while I get to do something that makes me feel totally empowered. I got to do some empowering today. Unfortunately, it was nothing like rescuing a kitten or helping an elderly person across the street. Nope. Nothing so upstanding.

I got to rescue one of our singers from a locked bathroom.

I was walking to my office when I heard a faint voice saying, "hello...?!" followed by a pounding. I stopped, looked around. Was it in my head?
I asked my assistants if they heard anything. Shhhh....listen... Ah, there it is again.

I followed the pounding down the hall to the diva's dressing room.

Turns out she's stuck in her bathroom (each dressing room has a private bathroom). So, I tried the knob, and yes, she is definitely stuck.

I got say the words I've always wanted to say: "Stand back! I'm going to kick it in!"
I mean, come on, who hasn't wanted to say that?

When the singer assured me she was clear of the door, I took a step back and BAM!! Kicked the door open (with my non-broken toe foot)! Wooha!!!

The door swung open and there stood the diva, slightly panicked looking as apparently she leans towards claustrophobic.

I was so pumped up after that, I looked around for other doors to kick in, but alas, there were none.

Still, hoo-wah!
